Marion's favorite picks
Les Queues de Sardines creates original tights with an unconventional and unique graphic style. Screen-printed by hand in limited quantities, these rare and exclusive articles will never go unnoticed. Marion tells us more about her label.
Who are you?
Who are WE..... Les Queues de Sardine is 2 people: myself and Olivier. We met at Beaux Arts school and I can tell you, Les Queues de Sardines is as much Olivier as myself.
How did you start in fashion?
I wanted to study fashion at the beginning of highschool, I've always loved Haute Couture so much! Finally, the Beaux-Arts school was proposing a wider range of courses, with multiple options. The first tight sketch was born just after a nude art course...
How would you define your style?
We try to mix together our personal styles... meaning narration, graphic design, humour. Well, we try to mix.
What inspires you?
Everything, from Italian Renaissance to French Hunter magazine!
A few words about this collection...
Punkyhontas, or how to mix the first drawings of the American indians as they were enclosed in camps, with the punk and quite trashy side of silk screen printing. Usually, all our drawings are 100% perfect, but this time, we wanted to be more in the fabric. There is also more colors, which represent even more work for each stocking.
What's your favorite piece in our selection?
Piiiouffffff, there are too many of them !
What are you most proud of?
My bone collection !
Where do you manufacture your products?
Everything is made in France, and more precisely at our workshop for a good part of the collection.
Where can we find your collection?
In select shops everywhere in the world, on L'Exception and on our website...
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
A movie, "the" movie": Forbidden Zone by Richard Elfman. I hate musicals, except for this one !!! It's fantastic, delirious, a collage of techniques that is seldom done anymore, a real marvel ! And I really think it looks like us.
